Have you ever wondered what your favorite album cover would look like if the artist was a bigger fan of tacos? Well lucky for you, Chicago DJ-duo the Hood Internet have created what is undoubtedly the next big internet meme by taking classic and iconic album covers and simply inserting a taco wherever they damn well please. You can catch all their beefy, cheesy, crunchy photoshops at the aptly named Albumtacos.tumblr.com. Let's look at some of the work they've posted so far, shall we? Ah, yes. Very nice. Dark side of the salsa? I can hear a million indie-kid minds flooding with thoughts of "Is nothing sacred?" to which I respond with laughter. Am I the only one who thinks this is an improvement over the original? This is just a small sample of quite a few the Hood Internet have already posted to their Tumblr, which, if it hasn't already, I'm sure will "go viral" very soon. I mean they've already been tweeted out by Slate, HuffPo and Thrill Jockey! Well played, ABX and STV SLV. Well played, indeed. And if you prefer browsing Album Tacos to some music. Check out this mashup the Hood Internet posted on their website back on August 20 featuring Big Boi and English indie rockers Foals: The Hood Internet - Shutterbugg In Miami (Big Boi x Foals) by hoodinternet By   \  1 comment
Every summer needs a good mixtape. And although we're halfway through with this rather warm Chicago one, The Hood Internet may have just released your summer jammage in their new mixtape, Trillwave. The Chicago DJ-duo of Aaron Brink (aka ABX) and Steve Reidell (aka STV SLV) debuted the Trillwave mixtape on the Mishka NYC blog this week. It features, as always, a ton of great mashups, 25 to be exact, including Lollapalooza 2010 headliners Phoenix v. Pitchfork Fest act Why?, Doom v. The Flaming Lips, Drake v. Beach House and many more. Download Trillwave for free right now right here or listen to the full stream below: The Hood Internet x Mishka - TRILLWAVE by hoodinternet By   \  comments
