1. There’s quite a little shindig going on at the Double Door tonight. Reviewsic, one of our music blogging neighbors in the digital local music community, is throwing their one year anniversary show tonight, which was programmed by our great friends at Betta Promotions. They’ve taken over the top and dirtroom floors of the Double Door for double the fun. But the dirtroom floor show will feature an acoustic performance Chicago’s excellent indie-folk collective Dastardly that will no doubt be a whole lot of fun.

Apparently you’ll find her style nestled comfortably between the grand old dames of country, the White Stripes, the Black Keys, Pavement and Cat Power. The reason her influences line up this way might be due to the fact that Dawn has resided in Branson, MO, Louisville, KT, and Brooklyn. The Brooklyn in New York even. Call her the human sponge.
