1. Because if it wasn’t for my beautiful, amazing, remarkable, perfect girlfriend, I’d be madly in love with St. Vincent. Sad, but true. I can’t pinpoint why. Maybe it’s that she has an amazing voice or writes all her own music – even the most complex bits – or she absolutely shreds the guitar or her angelic features or…well I think I’ll just stop there. Anyway, if you haven’t checked our her album Actor, one of my picks for the 10 best albums in 2009, I suggest you do buy or download it right now.

Chicago experimental outfit Mako Sica are streaming their first full length album titled Dark Horizon at La-soc.com. The record is currently scheduled for a February release.
Dark Horizon was recorded and mixed by Todd Rittman (D. Rider, US Maple, Singer) and Jim Zespy (Magnolia Eclectric Co.) at Logan Hardware.
