[caption id="attachment_21888" align="alignleft" width="250" caption="The hood Internet"][/caption] When they’re not busy photoshopping tacos into classic album covers, Aaron Brink and Steve Reidell are busy infusing hip-hop jams with indie pop and rock tunes. Chicago duo The Hood Internet is back with Trillwave 2, which is now available for stream or download via Soundcloud. The 25-track album finds musical connections between artists such as Das Racist and Cults, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah and Destroyer, as well as M.I.A. and Sufjan Stevens. The end result is an overall collection of slow-burning grooves. The Hood Internet close the collection with a mash-up of Broken Social Scene’s “All to All” with Twista’s “Wetter”. When Chicago rockers Shapers remixed “All To All” earlier this year their version sped up the tempo to make it danceable. The Hood Internet version uses “Wetter”’s beat as a backbone and turns the Canadian collective’s track a slow jam. If you want to check out The Hood Internet’s next raging dance party, the duo will perform at North Coast Music Festival in Union Park on Friday, Sept 2. By   \  comments
