Chicago experimental noise rockers Disappears are selling copies of its special one-off performance at last month’s Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago appearance for Japan relief efforts.

Disappears guitarist Brian Case said via e-mail to Loud Loop Press that the band wanted to get involved in fundraising efforts since the March 11 earthquake hit the country.

“We were all pretty moved by what happened,” he said. “We have some friends from Japan and some of our friends from here were actually in Tokyo when all this was happening, so it became a little closer to home for us.”

The band announced via its blog that it would make 30 copies of its 34-minute performance from the MCA’s “Face the Strange” concert event available for purchase. The set list featured songs from its recent album Guider as well as its tour-only, Plustapes cassette Live at Echo Canyon.
