Axe-tappers Dick Wolf! seemed to have laid low after the release of their 7″, Entropy, last February. But the mathy trio has shared a brand spankin’ new demo with us, which we now present to you.

After the twitchy, double guitar-powered indie-pop that made a fun little record out of Entropy, Dick Wolf! seem to get a little bouncier on this new take, titled “We’ll Sing Together.” The song definitely hits its stride, however, when thick, weaving guitar lines pick up the pace and singer Jeff Kelley’s rubbery falsetto takes over. Listen to “We’ll Sing Together” below:

Sure listnening to this track via your headphones or computer speakers is cool, but wouldn’t it be more fun to hear it live? Of course. So, if ya dig, then you should probably mosey on over to Subterranean this Friday, August 26, and see Dick Wolf! lay it down along with some other fine locals including Late In The Playoffs, Mountains For Clouds and Empire Empire. Yeah, that’s going to be a rad time.

Chicago’s fuzzed-out, garage rockers Mannequin Men done got themselves a new Soundcloud account and wasted no time in posting up a brand new demo.

The band posted to their Facebook yesterday that they’ve been working on new EP or LP, which will be recorded soon. In the meantime, they ask us to jam on one of their favorite new demos, “Don’t Grow”, which is a gritty, groove rocker with tight, overdriven vocal melodies. Listen to the track below:

If that tune got your bones-a-bouncin’ then perhaps you’d be interesting in catching Mannequin Men at Schubas on Saturday, December 4. Tickets are available right now at Schubas.com for only $8.

So Smith did what any new artist who’s looking for attention would do: He recorded his first live performance and captured how it all came together in a five-part Youtube documentary titled DEMO.
