Three if-the-Sharks-play-as-well-as-they-did-yesterday-all-series-win-or-lose-I’ll-be-happy reasons to stay bundled up and go the The Whistler tonight…
1. Radar Eyes might not pack the same punk rock punch as Night of the Hunter – from which 3 of the 4 came – but they do take their gothic tendencies to a more rocking place than most. After two and a half years of work, the Chicago Independent Radio Project, or CHIRP, will finally be launching their new internet radio station on January 17, 2010.
Still, CHRIP could use your donations, Chicago. Anything helps, especially during the holiday season. To donate, simply log on to Chicagoindieradio.org and click the blue button titled, “click to make a donation.” If you chose to donate $100 or more to CHIRP, you’ll receive an invitation for two to their private launch event on January 29.
But if cash is tight for you this holiday season, then CHIRP is throwing another launch event open to the public at the Empty Bottle on January 16 featuring the Yolks, Hollows, and Rabble Rabble. The show begins at 10 p.m. and it 21+.
For more information about the CHIRP, check out our feature story on the Chicago Independent Radio Project’s new internet radio station.
