Sweet Cobra are pretty much everything you want in a metal act with ice cap-melting riffs, thunderous drums and urgent, and scream-filled vocals. But the band does feature some wicked melodic breakdowns not unlike High On Fire that can be heard in their ditty “Redborne Orphan”, which you can peep on their
Myspace. Seriously, these guys are heavy. Maybe BP should just try blaring Sweet Cobra over a PA to the oil spill because it might scare the oil right back in the pipe. They’re that good.

Holy jeebus, it’s November! Seemed like yesterday it was the dog days of summer. Now we’re in the thick of fall, but as temps get colder, the Chicago music scene is only heating up!
This weekend, we’re spotlighting tonight’s Basement Jaxx show, Numero Group’s Eccentric Soul Revue, Chicago’s own Bible Of The Devil and more.
