andrew-bird-pressHey, you like Andrew Bird, right? Of course you do. Dude’s way talented and can whistle like nobody’s business. And you probably missed him at Schuba’s a couple months back, because, you know, it holds like 200 people.

Well, if you were worried that your chance to see Mr. Bird in a small, intimate setting had passed forever, I have some great news for you. Not only is Bird coming back home to Chicago in December to play another small venue, he’s coming for three straight nights. And it’s in a church. You don’t want to miss this.

Chicago singer-songwriter Andrew Bird added a slew of new fall tour dates, and he’s bringing the lovely Annie Clark A.K.A. St. Vincent with him.

The Andrew Bird-St. Vincent dates kick off on Sept. 29 in Indianapolis and run through Oct. 28 at Washington D.C.’s 930 Club.

While Bird played the beautiful Lyric Opera House just this past April, it’s a shame the only Chicago date on his current summer/fall tour is Friday, August 7, at 7:00pm on the Playsation Stage at this year’s Lollapalooza. Sure, it’ll be nice to see Bird play outside in the daylight with the skyline behind him, but c’mon…it’s his hometown…we need a club show, please!

Andrew Bird and Poi Dog Pondering are among the Chicago musicians slated to perform at the Austin City Limits Festival. Also performing are Sonic Youth who kick off their summer tour in Chicago on June 28. The three day event is set for October 2 – 4 at Zilker Park in Austin, TX. Headlining are festival main stage staples Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Beastie Boys and current RollingStone coverboys Kings of Leon. The latter two can also be caught headlining this year’s Lollapalooza. The rest of the line-up is available here, it’s really a shame Daniel Johnston is getting such a low billing in the Devil Town.

So if you can’t make it to Lollapalooza but want to catch a bunch of the same acts, head down to Austin this fall.

Early bird tickets have sold out, but regular three-day passes for $185 are on sale now.
