After completing some home improvements earlier this year, beloved Ukrainian Village venue The Empty Bottle is now auctioning off pieces of its old bathroom walls and hardwood floors for charity tonight.
The Bottle is hosting “Pee It Forward: Protect Your Liver, Protect Your Table – An Empty Bottle ‘Art Coaster Auction’” beginning at 6:30 p.m. to raise money for the American Liver Foundation.
Up for auction is a limited number of coasters (a set of four each) made from hacked up pieces of the Bottle itself. Not enticed yet? Check out this description from the event’s Facebook page:
Want to own some wood that Bob Pollard spit on in 2001? Think some flooring where Jack White took a knee in 2000 would be an excellent holiday present for your special someone? A spot where Isaac Brock shed some sweat in 1997 or Anton Newcombe bled from a split finger in 1998? Now’s your chance to add some Chicago rock history to your coffee table while donating to a rad cause.
Tonight’s free shindig will allow those curious few to check out the coaster art, down some tasty alcoholic beverages and check out live DJ sets by Landfill Specter.
If you cannot make the party, the auction will commence at 6:30 tonight on 32auctions.com and last through October 22.
