Nothing says Rock and Roll like roasting some swine over an open flame…unless you happen to be vegan.
But vegans be damned because the first annual Rock and Roll Pig Roast gets cooking on Saturday, September 24, at Ethyl’s Beer and Wine Dive, located at 324 S. Racine.
While the pig sounds tempting, it’s the local music lineup that has us salivating.
Jangle-poppers Mannequin Men, psych-rockers Secret Colours, power-punks Bully In The Hallway, melancholy indie outfit The Record Low, bluesy boogiers Chicago Stone Lighning Band and Americana madmen Elephant Gun are all set to rock your stuffed face.
A mere $15 the day of gets you a wristband, which includes an all you can eat buffet of said pig, vegetarian items (!), cheap drinks and a full days of some excellent local music. If that sounds too good to be true, it’s gets even better as you can buy presale tickets right now only $10 at Eventbrite.com.
The event is all ages, but you need to be 21+ to drink (duh). Doors at 1 p.m. Music at 3 p.m. So go enjoy meats roasted out doors before it gets co…*goes outside*…uh, snowy. Get all the pertinent info at Rockandrollpigroast.com.
