It’s Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday for you non-French speakers, and if you’re looking to get into the New Orleans spirit look no further than Preservation, the new album released today from the Big Easy’s own Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
Andrew Bird, who’s among over 20 diverse artists recorded on the album, appears on the opening track “Shake It and Break It.”
With roots going back to the 1800′s Preservation Hall has long been home to some of the finest jazz in the Crescent City. Proceeds from the sales of this album, available in standard and deluxe packaging which includes a bonus disc and photography booklet, will go to maintaining Preservation Hall and The Preservation Hall Music Outreach program.
