On October 27 Pelican will release its fourth studio album What We All Come To Need on the Southern Lord label. To promote the release the loud, post-rock quartet will play an in-store performance at 7:00pm October 16 at Reckless Records, 1532 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Later that night, the group will host an album listening party at Kuma’s Corner, 2900 W. Belmont, starting at 11:30pm. Additionally, Kuma’s will be unveiling the “Pelican Burger” described as “a ten ounce Kobe Beef patty, with pan seared scallops and lardons, in a garlic white wine sauce on top of a parmesan crisp, and served with white wine-garlic Aioli.” The Pelican Burger joins metal gods Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Slayer on the roster of bands with burgers named after them.
Pelican kicks off its tour October 18 at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The 26 date run, which concludes at the Empty Bottle, Friday, December 11, includes a few more in-store performances:
October 22, The Record Exchange, Boise, Idaho at 5:30 pm
October 24, Easy Street Records (Queen Anne), Seattle, Washington at 3:00 pm
October 25, Jackpot Records (Hawthorne) Portland, Oregon at 3:00 pm
