desktop7Rumors — it’s not just a Fleetwood Mac album. For all those Chicagoans who have been desperate for news stating when the newly reunited Pavement will grace the Windy City, you’ll have to keep waiting.

Although unofficially, it looks as though there’s a good chance Pavement will headline the 2010 installment of the Pitchfork Music Festival, according to an interview Pavement drummer Bob Nastanovich gave to his hometown paper, the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Neither Pavement’s label, Matador Records, nor Pitchfork will confirm Pavement’s role in the festival. Jessica Linker, a spokeswoman for Pitchfork, told the Chicago Tribune’s Greg Kot that until the finer details are hammered out, nothing is set in stone.

“We are still working on the important details of ticket price, on-sale date and, of course, lineup,” said Pitchfork spokeswoman Jessica Linker. “Any information at this time concerning these aspects would be premature.”

Pitchfork Music Festival will take place July 16-18, 2010, at Union Park in Chicago.
