Chicago-based experimental music festival Neon Marshmallow will return for a second installment Friday, June 10 through Sunday, June 12, 2011.
Already the festival has released nearly 20 ambient noise, drone and electronica acts from all over the country and Canada including Pitchfork darlings and Brooklyn trance group OneOhTrix Point Never.
Also appearing are legendary electronic composer Morton Subotnick, Portland psychedelic soloist White Rainbow, fellow Portland noise maker Pulse Emitter and Chicago synth enthusiast Beau Wanzer.
There are some noticeable differences between Neon Marshmallow’s inaugural year and the 2011 edition, namely a new location and the former four-day festival’s loss of one day.
Neon Marshmallow will move on down the North Western Avenue strip to melt ear drums inside the slightly larger space provided by the Empty Bottle.
Early bird tickets for the Neon Marshmallow Festival are already on sale. Up for grabs is a $60 three-day pass. Get ‘em while they’re hot.
