UPDATE: Greg Kot informs us that Tribune sources are saying to count on Arcade Fire and The Strokes at the festival. Kot also reports “Yeasayer, the xx, and Dirty Projectors, as well as veteran dance-oriented acts Cut Copy and Hot Chip” will be playing as well.

The Daily Swarm, citing “multiple industry sources,” claims to know who is headlining this year’s Lollapalooza festival held in Grant Park on Aug. 6-8.
While we reported before that a reunited Soundgarden was a heavily rumored favorite to close one of the nights, Lady Ga Ga and Green Day‘s names just surfaced.
This would be Soundgarden’s third appearance as part of Lollapalooza. The group took the main stage in 1992 and again in 1996 when it was a touring festival.
Green Day and Lady Ga Ga would each be making their second appearances at a Lollapalooza. Green Day played the main stage on the second half of the 1994 tour, while Ga Ga played a daytime side stage here in 2007.

with no real sources except some friends i’m hearing that a reformed faith no more (already playing 3 shows in the bay area soon) will also find their way onto the bill. if it’s going to be 1992 again it might as well be 1992 again. i’d sneak in for free to see fnm
Faith No More would be incredible.
You want it all but you can’t have it.
Andrew wins. You can’t top that.
I sincerely love Lady Gaga and her unusual costumes although she definitely let herself down now going out in see through undergarments.
