Monday Afternoon Quick Fix runs every Monday afternoon to showcase the best of Chicago music news, views and stories from around the interwebs and blogosphere that we might have missed.
- • Rockers Company of Thieves appeared on 93 XRT’s Local Anesthetic with Richard Milne two Sundays ago and the station posted the audio for all to hear.
- • Nordic Thunder, the Chicago man The Reader profiled in last Thursday’s issue, took second place in the Air Guitar World Championships. Whoa. And, Miles Raymer interviews some band called “Rodeo.” Never heard of ‘em, but if they’re good enough for the Reader...
- • The Chicago Tribune shockingly chose to review Braid’s sold-out gig at the Metro this past Saturday. Sounds like the band didn’t disappoint.
- • The Chicago Jazz Festival is making room for poets this year, according to the Sun-Times.
- • Pitchfork Media launched its newly designed website over the weekend. There were mixed reviews, just like the last time Pitchfork did it in 2009.

Hello. I was wondering how to use your blog or paper.. not sure what you offer here.. to promote a new Chicago area Talent and band.. August Son.. I was wondering if i can write and email something about the band and or if you assign someone to interview and or review. Im not sure what the scope is of your website.
