Per the Chicago Sun-Times, Lupe Fiasco‘s long-awaited and much hyped third full length album, Lazers, will be released on March 8 on Atlantic Records.
Still, the release isn’t coming without controversy. The Sun-Times also reports that protests put together by fans after word got out that Atlantic was stalling on releasing the record two years after it was ready.
The protests, dubbed Fiasco Friday, will take place in New York and Chicago. The larger protest will go down outside the Atlantic offices in New York this Friday, October 15, with Fiasco himself on hand. For Chicago fans, there’s a chance to get in on the action as well. On Friday, Fiasco fans will gather at the Buckingham Fountain and march throughout the loop beginning at 1:30 pm. Details can be found at the event’s Facebook page.
