The wait is over! Finally Lollapalooza released their daily schedule this morning for everyone to complain about when they realize that their favorite bands are all playing at the same time.
You can check out the full schedule right now over at Lollapalooza.com. It’s pretty much what those who post at the festival’s message board predicted months ago. The head-to-head headliners for each day are as follows…
Friday take your pick between the Nu-Madonna dance sounds of Lady GaGa or the revival of New York garage rock revivalists The Strokes. On Saturday, you can either get down to eye-liner wearing punks Green Day or gawk at the sweet pop of France’s Phoenix. Finally on Sunday, which in my opinion is the biggest and worst conflict of the festival, you can either see the sprawling epics of Canada’s Arcade Fire or the non-ironic flannel wearing reunited grungers Soundgarden.
Single day tickets to Lollapalooza are also on sale as of this morning. A single day ticket will put you back about $90, while a three-day pass, which are still available, is $215. Buy tickets right now at Lollapalooza.com/tickets.
Finally, dig the schedule? Hate it? Feel free to vent about band conflicts and everything else Lollapalooza in our comments.

My suggestion: Get some cardio in before Lolla begins. Some of those schedules are ludicrous! On Saturday alone I would have to sprint from Rogue Wave to Beats Antique to The Verve Pipe (gotta represent the 90′s kids) to The xx to Grizzly Bear with a five minute breather before I am up and running again to Metric, Social Distortion, Spoon and Phoenix.
Only the strong survive in the realm of the Lolla.
And by the by, if you’ve never heard of Beats Antique, I suggest giving them a listen. Hip hop, electro-acoustic gypsy music fusion. It’s really cool to hear. Plus, I am madly in love with their belly dancer, Zoe Jakes. She is super delicious!
Here’s another tip: While sprinting around from stage to stage, don’t forget to hydrate and occasionally eat something.
I learned the hard way at Curiosa festival in 2004 when my body staged a mutiny while I was watching Mogwai. Then again, a healthy amount of vomit could clear a nice path to the stage for yourself.
Oh, yeah, and get some waterproof sun screen. I sustained some pretty rough sun burns back when Lollapalooza was a touring festival 500 (or 7) years ago.
Disappointing. I will also be doing a lot of sprinting on Saturday. In fact, Saturday is the only day worth going. Everything I wanted to see on Friday or Sunday has some sort of overlapping schedule.
