Spending a Saturday perusing merchandise at a crafts fair or farmer’s market may seem lame or strictly for soccer moms and senior citizens but the fine folks and Schubas and the Empty Bottle aim to change that perception this weekend.
On Saturday, December 19, Schubas (3159 N. Southport) will once again host the Indie Arts Market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Indie Arts Market will feature artwork by over 30 Chicagoland artists inside Schubas’ music room. Crafts on sale include everything from jewelry to silkscreen prints and stationery.
The Empty Bottle (1035 N. Western Ave.) kicks off its monthly farmer’s market on Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The indoor farmer’s market will feature products from 12 local vendors including Videnovich Farms, Tomato Mountain Farm and Earth First Farms. The event is free but the libations, provided by the Empty Bottle, are not. Show your support for local businesses by picking up some locally grown herbs and hand-made jellies while rocking out to tunes chosen by the Empty Bottle’s staff.
Indie Arts Market, Saturday, 12/19. Schubas. Free. 11 AM to 4 PM.
