Last time we saw Kanye West, he was doing something dumb at the MTV VMA awards. Then he went into hiding when he was proclaimed public enemy number one by just about everyone, minus Jay Leno oddly enough.
Well, today Sterogum unleashed we’ve all been waiting for – a new Kanye West track titled “Power”. Upon first listen, you’ll notice that West has dropped the sad, indie schtick that he gave us on 2008′s 808s and Heartbreak and has returned to what he does best – rapping. Even better is that West is back to delivering some killer samples, and in this case he gives us a bit of King Crimson’s “21st Century Schizoid Man”. The song also features Dwele who we last heard alongside West on “Flashing Lights” from 2007′s Graduation.
According to Stereogum, “Power” is the first single from his new album Good Ass Job, which is set for release sometime in September with the “Power” single set to drop on June 8. You can download “Power” in MP3 format right now over at the Chicagoist.
