Though the term "blast beat" is nowadays most commonly used when discussing metal and/or DJ breakdowns,
The Blast Beats are nothing of the sort. No, Blast Beats instead rely on '60s pop melodies that are doo-wop meets jangly garage rock. And to be honest, most of the garage rock-iness comes from their very lo-fi production, which gives their songs that dusty vinyl feel. Of course, the production could be that way because the four songs they do have online right now are on a release on their Bandcamp titled, yep, "Demo." Still, it's hard to not wanna shake your shoulders to the bass-y boogie of, "Why Don't You (Tell Me)" or get lost in the echoing vocals of "Shimmy Shimmy."

Nice show last night boys! I’m glad I stumbled upon this and checked you out. Just wish I could have heard your singing a little more…damn sound guys
Thanks a lot for making it out Nick. Bummer about the vocals. I like to think we sound better with vocals.
Next time you come out, make sure to say “hi”.
