Three reasons to trek on over to the Metro tonight to catch the lovely St. Vincent (a.k.a. Annie Clark)…
1. Because if it wasn’t for my beautiful, amazing, remarkable, perfect girlfriend, I’d be madly in love with St. Vincent. Sad, but true. I can’t pinpoint why. Maybe it’s that she has an amazing voice or writes all her own music -- even the most complex bits -- or she absolutely shreds the guitar or her angelic features or…well I think I’ll just stop there. Anyway, if you haven’t checked our her album Actor, one of my picks for the 10 best albums in 2009, I suggest you do buy or download it right now.
2. Because she’ll most likely play the amazing Actor track, not that all the tracks on the album aren’t amazing, “Laughing With A Mouth Of Blood.” Check out the video below featuring comedy duo ThunderAnt, SNL’s Fred Armisen and current NPR blogger and former Sleater-Kinney guitarist Carrie Brownstein, playing some whacky bookstore employees.

3. Because…oh yeah! Opening tonight’s show is minimal, swedish-pop duo Wildbirds & Peacedrums. Check out the video to their melodic and bouncy single, “My Heart.”
