hideout-patch2Three stomach rumbling reasons to head on over to The Hideout this evening…

1. It’s Wednesday. That means tonight is Soup and Bread night. Chefs tonight include Swim Cafe, Celeste Dolan, Shana Pearlmutter, Zachary Kaplan, Rae Hill, and Martha Bayne. Soup, as always, is free but donations are more than welcome. All proceeds benefit local food pantries. All soup benefits your well-being.

2. Not good enough for you? Cynic. Well then check it out: Tonight is also another evening in the Immediate Sound Series. What does that mean to you? Well the DKV Trio, featuring one Ken Vandermark, plus Kent Kessler, and Hamid Drake, will be playing two sets for your listening pleasure. Those are heavyweights in Chicago’s jazz scene, man. See?

3. According to my man Tom Skilling we are expecting snow. Tons of it. But not until after midnight tonight. You may be stuck in your apartment the next fews days, desperately lacking social interaction. Don’t let this opportunity go to waste, my friends. Put on your mittens and head out. Warm your belly with some dynamite soup and fill your ears with the best jazz Chicago has to offer. You will not regret it.

5:30 – 8:00 PM (Soup & Bread) 9:30 PM (DKV Trio). Wednesday, 1/6. The Hideout. 21+. Soup & Bread hours are FREE. DKV Trio is $10.
