Three so-top-secret-that-if-I-told-you-I-just-might-have-to-kill-you reasons to drop everything and head on over to the Empty Bottle tonight…

1. Nashville’s JEFF The Brotherhood have made an appearance on the big Daily Diversion show before, but aint no reason we can’t spotlight their sweet maybe we’ll call it flanged out grunge pop again. I mean, they’ve come up from Nashville to play for y’all so the least we can do is tell you they are rad and that you should go check them out. Am I right or am I right?

2. Finally! I finally get to write up Mobile, Alabama’s Wizzard Sleeve! Hot damn. Just the name alone is recommendation worthy, but there’s also their lumbering, garage, psych, space rock to talk about. Everything you’d expect from a Wizzard Sleeve in fact.

3. Chicago’s Daily Void open up. Featuring members of the Functional Blackouts, Daily Void play a weird disjointed punk rock. Now I’m no expert of mid-80′s death-punk but I’ve done some research here and hear it is making a comeback. So, get on the mid-80′s death-punk wave and ride it till it takes you to late 80′s pop-punk? But get off there because it’s about to get really shitty for punk rock come the 90′s.

9:30 p.m. Thursday, 9/2. Empty Bottle. 21+. $5.
