Three reasons to kiss that blarney stone and head on over to Lincoln Hall this evening…
1. As many of our fair Chicago acts have made the journey on down to Austin for SXSW, there’s been a bit of an influx of groups from across the pond hitting the windy city clubs recently. Yesterday the Empty Bottle had some French acts play, and today a few acts from the U.K. will descend upon Lincoln Hall. One such act is Field Music who blend good ol’ fashion rock and roll with lush melodies and playful indie antics. Their track, “Each Time Is A New Time” which can be heard on their Myspace page, is a perfect soundtrack for this beautiful St. Patty’s day.
2. Also, on tonight’s bill, all the way from London, are the Clientele. They play a bit more of a dreamy, psychedelic breed of indie rocs that bustles with urgency. Check out the video for their track “Bookshop Casanova”:
3. Liam Hayes and Plush open the show. Their brand of pop encompasses everything from ’60s soul to blues to acoustic balladry. Sounds like an excellent St. Patty’s day lineup to me. So, eat your bangers and mash, drink a Guiness or two and be sure to wobble over to Lincoln Hal this evening.
9:00 p.m. Wednesday, 3/17. Lincoln Hall. 21+. $15.
