Apparently no one told Blackout Dates
that rock 'n' roll was dead. Of course I'm being facetious, but damn, this group really knows how to satiate your head-banging rock fix. They flirt with heavy post-punk while maintaining a melodic indie rock foundation, and the result is a sound that will surely cause your hand to spontaneously throw up some devil horns. Their latest release, Beverly
, is gritty guitar bliss with takes like the jagged riffed "Killing My Mind" or the bombastic pop of "Like Flowers." LISTEN: "Killing My Mind"
