1. Baroness’s new one, The Blue Album, is a gem of metal exploration. There are old school Metallica guitar intros and Mastodon like prog riff mash-ups and vocals that remind me at times of Ian Mackay yet it’s all tied together and taken places you never saw coming. A masterpiece? One might say that. I just did.

2. I have not seen Earthless live but if they are half the band they are on their live album you and your face might be in trouble. Leaning heavily on a 70’s Deep Purple/Blue Cheer vibe, Earthless basically just go off on long-ass, guitar solo heavy, space rock jams. Long. Like 30 minutes long. This guys don’t screw around. You may need to hold your jaw in place.

3. Sure, it’s a weeknight but guess what? You don’t have to work tomorrow. Before getting bloated and falling asleep on the couch watching the Raiders crush the Cowboys get out and have your mind blown a bit. You won’t be needing it for a few days.

8:00 PM. Wednesday, 11/25. Reggie’s Rock Club. 17+. $14.
