Chris Darby of Them Damn Kids will host the 11th installment of Chicago’s Songwriter Festival at Phyllis’ Musical Inn, located at 1800 W Division St., this Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Darby has put together a festival filled with some of Chicago’s best local bands and singer/songwriter talent to wield an acoustic guitar. Talent such as Arthi Meera (of Fair And Kind), Ryan Suzuka, Adam Hitchell, Gia Margaret, Matt Shaw and The Spend, and, of course, Them Damn Kids will rock your face gently till last call with harmonicas, ukuleles, and the occasional egg shaker. Additionally, the festival will be the going away party/launch of Darby’s nationwide tour.
Wednesday’s show is free and Darby is asking a mere $5 donation at the door for Friday and Saturday nights. The festivities begin at 8 p.m. and Them Damn Kids promises to close every night with a different set.
So, get out there Chicago and show some love to your local musicians for a mere fraction of the price of other 3-day festival tickets!
The complete lineup for this unplugged extravaganza is right after the jump.
