A tribute to the recently deceased Sky Saxon of the Seeds was held last Friday at the Echoplex in Los Angeles, and Billy Corgan was there to not only pay respects to his childhood icon and musical companion but to rock the joint.
Pitchfork.com reports that in addition to playing on a number of classic tunes including “Spirit In The Sky,” Corgan and new 19 year-old drummer Mike Byrne unleashed a brand spankin’ new Smashing Pumpkins track.
Here’s a clip of the new song, which isn’t completely horrid. The song sounds like the most heartfelt moment Corgan has produced since Zwan. It’s a poppy track complete with punchy drums and surf-guitar chord strums. Check it out:

Is there supposed to be a video or a link? I don’t see one, but I’d like to check out the song. Can you post a link? Thanks!
