Chicago poppy post-punkers Big Science are slated to release a new EP titled Skyscraper Sound on Tuesday, June 29, via Columbia College’s student-run label AEMMP Records.
Big Science have been rocking Chicago’s music scene with their post-punk/new wave sounds since 2007. In 2009, the band was recognized by the Independent Music Awards (IMA) for their track “My Career As A Ghost” as it won AEMMP Records the ninth annual IMA Award for its inclusion on their compilation. The band even performed a showcase for Universal Motown this past March in Austin as part of SXSW.
According the press release, the band sifted through 800 (wow!) musical ideas that were narrowed down to 50 working song drafts before completely refining everything into five tracks for Skyscraper Sound.
