Does anything go better together than great live music and a boatload of short films? I think not.
Well for those of you who think like me, you’re in luck as the Backyard Film and Music Festival goes down at the Pullman State Historic Site, located at 11057 S. Cottage Grove, on Saturday, July 24.
The festival will mix the best up-and-coming visual talent with Chicago’s best up-and-coming audio talent as it will feature 20 short films, 10 bands and two DJs. The band lineup features soon-to-be-huge local indie psych act Light Pollution, dreamy shoegazers Panda Riot, prog-indie duo Coltrane Motion, Folky roots act Judson Claiborne and much more.
The festival kicks off at 12 p.m. on July 24, and tickets are available right now for a special advance purchase price of $10 at Bfmf2010.com. After June 30, admission increases to $15, so better get on it. Find the complete band lineup and video trailer for the Backyard Film & Music Festival after the jump.

Fantastic event, this year held in the historic Pullman Factory on the far south side, a wonderful and weird venue. An eclectic mix of bands: Panda Riot, Dosh, Light Pollution, “nerd” rapper Phillip Morris, Coltrane Motion, Big Splashes, Rugged Russian Bear… and more, both inside and outside the space (when weather permitted). A great vibe, in spite of the freak transportation/flooding issues plaguing the rest of the city. Please do it again in Pullman, maybe with more food!
