The Orwells were undeniably the most buzzworthy act to emerge from Chicago (technically Elmhurst, but close enough) last year. They were very close to making our 13 Chicago Bands To Watch In 2013 list, but by last month, they had already made a name for themselves nationally. The Orwells' debut, Remember When, is a solid mix of raunchy but youthful garage rock, which makes sense considering no member is of legal drinking age yet, but what really sets them apart is their high energy live show. Thankfully, the always great Audiotree invited The Orwells to one of their Audiotree Live video sessions. The result is a fantastic looking and sounding set from the Orwells that, for the informed, is a good introduction to this wave-making band. The Orwells are currently on a west coast jaunt, but will return to Chicago on March 23 with a show at the Beat Kitchen. In the meantime, check out their Audiotree Live sesh below:
