Jangly rock supergroup Bare Mutants made their Coach House Sounds debut this week with a sweet set full of 60s pop-inspired rock’n’roll. Bare Mutants are not just a group that are super, but a band of well-known Chicago misfits containing former Ponys’ frontman Jered Gummere on guitar and vocals, Mannequin Men’s Seth Bohn on bass, Derek Nelson & the Musicians’ Pete Falknor on drums, The 1900s’ Jeanine O’Toole on vocals and percussion, and newcomer Leslie Deckard on organ. Check out the quintet messing around with CHS in the 16-minute clip below. You can catch Bare Mutants live when they play with Disappears and Outer Minds this New Year’s Eve at the Empty Bottle. Tickets are $20.

One Response to “WATCH: Bare Mutants probe Coach House Sounds”
Never thought I’d dislike something that a member of the 1900s did, but this is just rather boring and monotone. I kept skipping ahead to the same sounds over and over. I don’t play the keyboard, and yet somehow I feel like I could play this.
