Chicago’s indie-pop, singer-songwriter Sad Brad Smith may be best known for his tune, “Help Yourself”, which made a big impression in the 2009 film Up In The Air.

But 2010 has also been a big year for Smith as he’s released a delightful new album, Love is Not What You Need, and more recently has been featured in the latest session from Chicago’s Coach House Sounds.

Now, we can add to that list Sad Brad Smith’s cover of Slick Rick’s classic hip hop track “Hey, Young World”, which is done in a fun, lo-fi pop style complete with a smooth delivery from Smith. Listen to the cover at the left.
